Dore' - Dorais Families

Jean Dore' was born in de St-Vivien de Saintes, Saintonge, France. He married Marie Boyer en Saintonge, France.The family left France in the late 1600's for Chateauguay, Quebec, Canada. Decendants lived there & in Saint Philomene, Quebec raising a large family. In 1865 Francois & Felicity Dorais left Canada fo the USA in hopes to make a better life for their children. They went first to St. Charles, Missouri. A few years later they moved to Rulo, Nebraska. In the late 1800's they left Rulo, Neb. & moved to Aurora, Kansas where they lived the rest of their lives.

The first Jean Dore' born in de St.Vivien de Saints, Saintonge, France married Marie Boyer en Saintonge, France.

Their son Jean Baptiste Dore' was born in 1701. In 1730 the family left France and went to Saint Philomene, Quebec, Canada.Jean Baptiste married Madeleine Renaud 8/16/1731.

The son of Jean & Madeleine was Jacque Dore' born in 1752, he married Marguerite Lunegand on 2/27/1775.

Jacque & Marguerite's sons, Jean Louis Dore' born 11/27/1780 in Chateauguay, Quebec, married Josephine Brisson 4/29/1816.
Pierre Dore'(Dorais) born 1820 St Philomene, Quebec.

Jean Louis & Josephine's son was Francois J. Dorais, born 3/17/1822 in St Philomene, Quebec. Died 1856 , married Felicity LaBarge born 1827 & died 1905, both buried in Aurora, Kansas.

#5 : Stafine, Fannie, Dorais born St. Philomene, Quebec, Canada. Died in Aurora, Kansas. Married Alphonse Lambert.

#6 : Etienne, Steve, Dorais born 1866 St. Philomene, Quebec, Canada. Steve never married. Died in Aurora, Kansas 1945.

#2 : My grandfather, Joseph Alexander Dorais born 1863 St. Philomene, Quebec, Canada. Died 1935, married Josephine LaBrie born 1867, died 1896. Married in Assumption, Illinois, both buried in Aurora, Kansas. Two living children, daughters.

Daughter Mary Melvina Dorais born 1/6/1886 Aurora, Kansas, died 11/22/1971, married Willie Delmas Begnoche. Three sons,#1, Alden Begnche born 11/9/1910. Died 2/17/1991 never married.#2, Ernest Begnoche born 12/13/1911, died 12/29/1958 never married, both buried in Aurora, Kansas.
#3, Dale Begnoche born 8/25/1919, died 3/11/1976. Married Hazel Canfield. no children.

My Mother, Virginia Marie Dorais, born 9/10/1894 Aurora, Kansas. Married Albert H. Bessette born 12/12/1894. They were married 9/18/1917 in Aurora, Ks. Virginia died 3/6/1957, Albert died, 4/11/1959 Concordia, Kansas. Four children.

#1, Marie Lucille Besette born 5/22/1919 Concordia, Kansas, married Lloyd C. Hood born 2/20/1917, died 7/24/1992. One child Joette Marie Hood born 8/8/1948, married Gary Bauchlund one son Jeffery Bauchlund born 6/6/1975. Second spouse Jerald Shapiro.

#2, Armand Bessette born 2/14/1922 Concordia, Kansas. Married Ramona Nelson, divorced.

#2,Doris Mae Bessette born 5/30/1925 married William Reid, one daughter Wudene Jade Reid, second spouse Harold Wood Verzier, one son Daniel Wood Verzier. Third spouse Victor Pellegrino.

Wudene Jade Reid born 9/29/1945 married Howard Seay 1967, two children. Michael born 11/22/1970 Visalia, Ca. & Jennifer Victoria born 1/2/1974 in Fresno, Ca.

Daniel Wood Verzier born 8/11/1971 in Ceres, Ca. married Mary Tucker in Fresno, Ca. Three children. Michele Verzier born 8/17/1971 Fresno, Ca. Bud Cody Verzier born 3/30/1981 & Ely Daniel Verzier born 7/10/1984 both in Montana. Michele has two sons, Tyler born 9/11/1992 Kansas & Levi born 7/17/1997 in Idaho.

Vida Diane married Steve Zipser 2/6/1988- Proud Step Mother of Paul Zipser born 3/15/1977 & Laura Zipser born 8/18/1978 both in Oregon.

Laura Zipser married Ed Mpulton 1997 one child Mackenzie Lynn born 6/16/1998 in Colorado Springs, Co.

Philip Bruce Noble married Karen Freitas 5/12/1970 two sons David Patrick born 10/31/1981 & Christopher Jacob born 1/1/1984 Modesto, Ca.

Virginia Ann married Michael O. Hall 9/14/1995.
